PENETRATION AND REPELLENCY OF CHEMICAL PROTECTIVE COVERALLS

Present study was to evaluate chemical penetration and repellency of locallymanufactured protective coveralls used by the workers fertilizer manufacturing units. The researchwas based on laboratory work performed completed at Dyeing Finishing Unit, Nishat MillsLimited. samples were evaluated for their resistance various laundering intervals byISO 6530:2005 test methods. Chemical three different fabrics testedagainst four chemicals. results showed that all unable resist chemicalattack condition, became even worse with repeated washing cycles. At 20th cycle,98.5% chemicals penetrated synthetic fiber (polyester) whereas blended fiberwas recorded 98.9% natural fibers 99.1%. Similarly fornatural 0% it 1at 0.4%.According results, out samples, better againstchemical attacks.
